Ahmad

“Every day, I felt the weight of borders pressing against me, like chains around my soul, holding my dreams captive. But even chains cannot bind memory—or hope.”

The Old Radish Seller

“These radishes are more than just food; they are pieces of my heart, fragments of a history that refuses to be erased.”

The Abyssinian Soldier

“I wanted to belong. I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. But this uniform, this rifle—it feels heavier every day.”

The Historian

“I’ve archived every stone moved, every home demolished, every life uprooted. History doesn’t take sides—but historians who stay silent become accomplices to erasure.”

“In Jerusalem, the rows of graves are the lines of her history, and the soil is the book, written in every language…”

In memory of

Ahmad Khalil

His dream lives on this stage.

Raj’een — We Will Return is more than a performance; it is a call to conscience. Through symbolism, traditional music, and poetic storytelling, we aim to shed light on the lived experiences of Palestinians and their enduring hope of return. This production is a testament to resilience and the unshaken spirit of those longing for home.

This story is deeply personal to me — woven into my heart and soul. My father was a displaced Palestinian who carried the dream of returning to Jerusalem and visiting the home of his childhood. His heart was forever tied to that place, to that land, and to the memories it held.

Sadly, my father passed away before he could make that journey home. This play is my gift to his memory — a tribute to a great man, my father, Ahmad Khalil, and to all those who long for home.

The character Ahmad carries my father’s name — and his dream.
